Hatfield Hyde Cricket Club - Juniors

Juniors Section 2018
We have a thriving and welcoming Junior Section thanks to our willing group of coaches and helpers.  Our coaching team is led by our Junior Managers Stuart Johnson and Andy Ralph, both ECB Level 2 qualified, and Luke Wells, Scott Davies, Alan Carter, Dan Jones and Tom Whitton, all of whom hold the new ECB Coach award as Coach Support Worker. All coaches are DBS checked for working with children and these checks are refreshed every three years.

We have sides competing in the Herts Junior Leagues at Under 9, 10, 11, 12, 15 & 17, and are always ready to welcome new youngsters of all ages, boys and girls, to enjoy some cricket.  We hold weekly practise sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings and we are very proud to see many of our older Juniors being integrated into Senior cricket.

This summer we will again be part of the national ECB 'All Stars' cricket programme which started so successfully for many clubs, including ourselves in 2017. The initiative is aimed at 5-8yr olds and is designed as a fun-based and inclusive introduction to the game. All Stars will start at Hatfield Hyde CC on Saturday 2 June and will run for 8 weeks at the club's main ground from 9.30am to 10.30am during this period. Booking for the places, priced at £40 per child is now open.  To book a place, click HERE.

The club was delighted that Stuart Johnson was recognised in 2014 for his contribution to youth coaching when he was invited to The Oval during an England v Sri Lanka One Day International match to be handed his Coach of the Year Award on the pitch between innings.  The award was part of the ECB National Coaches Awards and Stuart was 1 of 100 coaches selected nationally for the award based on nominations from clubs through the County Coach Associations through to the ECB.  Stuart was presented his award by Chris Adams, ex-Sussex captain, former England International and manager of the Sri Lankan team at the time.
