Hatfield Hyde Cricket Club - Club Facilities

Club Facilities

The past few years have seen a major investment in club facilities, both financially and in terms of manual effort.

We now have our own “Ground-force” team made up of club members who volunteer a great deal of their spare time to work on the pitches and outfield.  This has seen a huge improvement in the quality of cricket pitch we now have on a weekly basis.

On top of this, late 2013 saw the installation of a new electronic scoreboard which looks fantastic.

In 2014 we worked hard to secure a grant from the Welwyn-Hatfield council to get a new sightscreen to replace one of the older ones and we aim to get another one in the near future to ensure both ends have new screens (and saves one annual job of fixing and re-painting the older wooden ones!).

We also have a portable net which can be wheeled out for practise as well as a BOLA Bowling Machine to help our batsmen.

On top of all of these “big ticket items” we continually invest in equipment for our Juniors to use and continue to look for ways to continually improve our facilities.  Future items on our agenda include pitch covers and boundary rope!

Away from the playing side of things we have also seen a new kitchen installed in the club over the past few years, meaning it’s a nicer place for our tea-makers as well as improving the facilities we can offer for external use.  New showers were installed a few years back and once again we have a list of internal improvements we will look to do over the coming years ranging from the changing rooms and toilets to the bar area!
